Say Hello To Nan

Sometimes you want to big someone up a bit and introduce them to other people. My friend Nan from Seattle is someone very special to me that I’d like you to meet.

Nan is funny, first and foremost. She makes me laugh and sees the bright side. Her stories of everyday life, ups downs and silly happenings makes me smile. She is also a great cook and posts wonderfully homemade food on her blog Pots and Pins, and don’t you just love that name for a blog! Wish I could come up with something like that.

The pins part of the name comes from her all consuming hobby of quilting. Boy does this lady quilt and do it well. She has even written books on the subject. I love her use of colour and how she brings everything together so well. She has a good eye and the patience of the proverbial saint to make these things.

Oh and another thing, Nan loves travel and France in particular. Gal after my own heart there.

Nan and I have been blog buddies for years and years. One of my bestest memories is when I was trapped on the sofa for 3 months with both feet in plaster unable to get about in any way and feeling a tad (ok mega more than a tad) sorry for myself and a package arrived out of the blue. It was a great big Red Cross parcel from Nan in America. A Starbucks coffee mug of Seattle, bag of coffee, cookies, American magazines, candies for Idgy, and love. The whole box was packed with love.

So this post is for you Nan. A great friend and a great blogger. Someone I really, really hope to meet one day.

Love

Karon x

  2. OMHell! You nut-job!! I’m blushing all the way across the pond! Thank you Karon, that was very, very sweet of you – I think I’ll have to print it out so when I pass on it can be part of my obituary…surely no one around here would write such prose! Ah, just seeing that picture of Nice made my heart skip a beat…must remember to buy lottery tickets so I can win and get back there one day…of course, if I do win, YOU’RE coming with me! xoxoxo! Nan
