On Friday I popped in to the SECC in Glasgow en route to my publisher’s and visiting Mum. One of those days when you cram in everything and then spend the rest of the weekend exhausted. Anyway it was well worth visiting the Crafts For Christmas show and not just because my lovely friends Sue and Christiane has stands there, but because I met a lovely lady with the most wonderful stand I have ever seen.

Attracted by the boxes of lavender and beautiful rustic set up making me think of my good old Dream Acres business of herb crafting a few years ago I wandered over to look, to smell, to touch and admire, and to meet the lady who put all this together.

The lady in question is Lesa of Natura Leigh who originally hails from America and now runs her crafting business in England. She uses lavender to make soaps and lotions, roses and essential oils. She makes beautiful kits for others to create their own goodies, and she has just added the most amazingly wonderful French chambray fabrics and printed buttons to her line.

These are just so beautiful I just had to buy pieces of fabric in every colour. Will I be madly crafting with these fabric treasures? Er, no actually, I bought them for photo props, I just saw immediately how gorgeous they would look with plates and cups and foody shots, with my essential oils and cleaners for my home shots. I was inspired by photography not a needle and thread.

Actually having said that I did get lots of her gorgeously floral printed buttons to add to my mad tweed jacket that gets more customisation every year.

I was so glad I met Lesa and her partner, they are warm and giving and so full of enthusiasm and creativity. Go trot over to her web site and step into her fabulously fragrant world, I know you’ll love it just as I do.
